Overview

   As teenagers, our lives can become packed with school, sports, and other activities, often to the point that we forget to pursue our creative interests. Challenge yourself to keep up with your passions this summer and join Ascension, our summer creativity camp. Over the course of six weeks, students from all skill levels with an interest in either writing, music composition, or art/photography will have the opportunity to network with and learn from like-minded peers who share their passion for innovation and individuality in a welcoming, engaging atmosphere.
    Students will participate in two 1.5 hour meetings a week: a meeting with one's "guild," the group of students that share their creative interest of either writing, music composition, or art/photography, and a second meeting with one's "pod," a mixed group of students from different guilds and with different interests. In guilds, students will participate in workshops to improve and share their skills, and in pods, students will work together towards creating a multi-dimensional capstone project containing elements of writing, music, and art. Joining is a fantastic way to meet new people both with the same and diverse interests.
At the end of the six-week-session there will be a final meeting in which pod-mates will share their final presentation with the whole group during the end of program celebration. This program is great for people who would like to begin learning a new craft or grow their skills in interests they have already been practicing.
